Duplicate meta descriptions
When multiple pages share one meta description, search engines lose the ability to show a result snippet tailored to what each page actually offers — and often override your description with an auto-generated one instead, which you have no control over.
Why it matters
A shared description is a wasted chance to differentiate pages in search results, and is often a symptom of the same template gap that causes duplicate titles.
How to fix it
- Write a unique meta description per page, summarizing that page's specific content.
- Fix the underlying template issue if descriptions are supposed to be dynamic but aren't populating.
- Prioritize your highest-traffic duplicate-description pages first if fixing all of them at once isn't practical.
