Generic or placeholder title tag
A title of "Home", "Untitled", "Index", or "Page" isn't just unhelpful to readers — it tells search engines nothing distinguishes this page from any other. These are almost always leftover defaults from a CMS or template that nobody replaced with real copy.
Why it matters
Generic titles carry zero keyword signal and produce identical or near-identical snippets across pages, which can also trigger duplicate-title issues site-wide.
How to fix it
- Replace the placeholder with a title specific to that page's actual content or purpose.
- Check your CMS/template defaults — if one page has a generic title, others on the same template probably do too.
- Treat every generic title as a missed keyword opportunity, not just a cosmetic issue.
