High-impression query with low click-through rate

A query can send a site plenty of impressions in Search Console while converting very few of them into clicks. The site is showing up for the right search — the click-through rate is what's underperforming relative to how often the query appears.

Why it matters

Click-through rate at a given position is itself a ranking input over time — a low CTR can hold a page back from climbing further, on top of the immediate lost traffic. High impressions mean there's real demand for this query already validated; a CTR fix captures traffic that's already within reach rather than requiring new rankings to be won.
