Low internal inbound links (weak link equity)
Not every under-linked page is a full orphan — a page can be technically reachable but still only have one or two internal links pointing to it, often a stray footer or breadcrumb mention. That's a weaker version of the same problem: too little internal link equity flowing to a page you've deliberately published.
Why it matters
Internal links are one of the clearest signals of a page's importance within your own site. A page you consider important but link to only in passing sends search engines the opposite signal — that it's minor.
How to fix it
- Link to the page from other genuinely relevant content, not just a generic sitewide nav/footer mention.
- Add it to a relevant hub, category, or 'related content' section where it fits topically.
- Treat internal linking as an active editorial decision, not something that happens automatically as a byproduct of navigation.
