Sitemap lists a noindex page
Including a page in sitemap.xml says "please index this." Marking that same page noindex says the opposite. That contradiction is usually a leftover — a page was intentionally deindexed but never removed from the sitemap, or a template applies noindex more broadly than intended.
Why it matters
At best it's wasted crawl budget on a page you don't want indexed anyway; at worst it signals disorganized SEO hygiene that erodes trust in the rest of the sitemap's accuracy.
How to fix it
- Remove noindex pages from the sitemap — they don't belong there by definition.
- If the page should actually be indexed, remove the noindex tag instead.
- Check for a template rule that's applying noindex too broadly (e.g. an entire section defaulting to noindex).
